4 Common Wi-Fi Problems And How To Fix Them
Having Wi-Fi has become such a luxury that if at anytime it stops working, we panic and don’t know what to do. Our whole lives are online, so being cut off can send anyone into a frenzy. Today, I forgot my phone at home and I feel absolutely naked. Does anybody else feel this way? Unfortunately, there no easy fix for this; however, if you have Wi-Fi issues most Wi-Fi problems have a simple fix that you can easily do on your own.
Here are 4 of the most common Wi-Fi problems you are likely to encounter:
4) No Internet Access in Specific Rooms
Especially if you live in an old house, you might notice that Wi-Fi works perfectly fine in some rooms but in other rooms it is either really slow or it doesn’t work at all. It can be quite annoying to have to move to certain rooms just to get Wi-Fi working. It’s not exactly ideal if you have to head over to the bathroom every single time you want to send a Facebook message. Often times when Wi-Fi works in some rooms but not others, it has to do with the location of the router. If you move the router to a location that is towards the center of your house, the coverage is going to be more reliable than it would be if it were near an exterior wall. It is a bit trickier if you live in an apartment. Using an app like Wi-Fi Analyzer will allow you to see nearby wireless networks and learn information about them. If you know what channels your neighbors are using, you’ll be able to pick a channel with less traffic. Another alternative will be to buy a Wi-Fi extender. Once you have a Wi-Fi extender, you’ll be able to put this device at the edge of where your router can reach. By doing so, the Wi-Fi extender will extend the range so that it covers an additional part of your home that your router has a hard time getting to.
