AirPods can activate Google Assistant on your Android device with this app
AirPods for GA
You’ll find just a small number of truly wireless earbuds available which are in fact worth using. At the moment most popular is Apple’s AirPods. But unlike many Apple products, they really perform very well with non-Apple products, which includes Android phones. For tighter integration between AirPods and your Android phone, DotArrow’s newest app works.
The app is called ‘AirpodsForGA,’ which enables you to trigger Google Assistant by double tapping on AirPod. That is similar shortcut utilized to trigger Siri when combined with an iPhone. It is well worth noting that you may by now use the’ OK Google’ hotword to open Google Now/Assistant on AirPods (at least based on this review), but this’s obviously quicker. There are limitations with Android’s media button events. The app is working fine when it is locked, but it doesn’t always work when the phone is unlocked.
I am not able to evaluate the app myself because I do not wear some AirPods, but there are four Play Store reviews saying it really works great. You are able to download it from the Play Store below, and also in the case, some AirPods is owned by you. Let us know in case it operates in the comments. Although that is surely obvious, you will also have to have a cell phone with Google Assistant.
