Samsung devices haven’t historically been the quickest to receive OS updates. This week, Android 9 Pie came to the T-Mobile variant of the extra-durable Galaxy S8 Active, nearly a year and a half after the Oreo update.
The update, which has baseband version number G892USQU5CSG7, comes with all the normal Pie improvements, like optional two-button navigation. It also includes the July security patch, as well as “other improvements,” according to T-Mobile’s support page. Read More
Android 10 is here, bereft of any colorful desert name — but many devices are still catching up on the previous version, Android 9 Pie. Such is the state of 2017’s LG V30, the Verizon variant of which has recently started receiving the update.

We’re fast approaching the final release of Android Q, but Android 9 Pie is still trickling out to some devices. Two such devices: Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S3 and Galaxy Tab A, both released in 2017. The tablets have started seeing the update in some Asian countries.
