The Vivo NEX’s front-facing camera is one of the coolest things we’ve seen in years.
Vivo may not be that well-known here in the U.S., but on June 12, the company unveiled what’s easily one of the most interesting phones we’ve seen in 2018. The Vivo NEX is the closest we’ve gotten so far to a truly “bezel-less” smartphone, and to achieve this, Vivo did something awfully unique with the front-facing camera.
For the second time in as many weeks, a Chinese smartphone maker released a phone that’s supposed to be the all-screen device we all want. But, just like Lenovo’s Z5 last week, the Vivo Nex isn’t the bezel-less phone we wanted.
But at least there’s no notch on this one.
While we all knew ditching bezels would continue to be a trend in 2018, many hoped that the notch wouldn’t come along with that. Unfortunately, it has, but some companies are actually trying to think past the notch. Now, after showing off a concept at MWC, Vivo is delivering the NEX which goes all in on all-screen.
Born from the innovative Vivo Apex concept phone, the Vivo Nex includes three cutting-edge technologies inside a body that’s 91 percent screen. If you hate the notch and love the idea of in-display fingerprint sensors, you’ll like the Nex.
