Xiaomi’s next flagship has a gradient pattern at the back and an in-display fingerprint sensor.
Xiaomi had a relatively modest start to 2019, but that’s set to change soon. The Chinese manufacturer is set to unveil the Mi 9 on February 24 at Mobile World Congress, with the phone featuring a gradient pattern at the back. Xiaomi’s head of global Xiang Wang shared the information in a tweet, while also giving us a first look at the look at the press renders of the upcoming flagship.
Ahead of the press conference it has scheduled for February 24, one day before Mobile World Congress 2019 kicks off, Xiaomi has shared some deeper insight into what the company has been experimenting with around flexible displays and foldable smartphones. Insights that include how the China-based company is apparently still working through some of the technical challenges inherent in the double-folding smartphone with its three different form factors that the company has in the works, with Dutch blog LetsGoDigital reporting that Xiaomi is considering the possibility of calling it either the Xiaomi Dual Flex or the Xiaomi MIX Flex.
The original Google Pixel was a big deal for smartphone cameras, and the results it put out are still impressive today. However, the rest of the industry is catching up, and now the sub-$300 Xiaomi Pocophone has managed to get a DxO score that beats Google’s first Pixel camera.
